Hcp 10.9, 30 Pts, Putts 35, Birdies 0, Lost Balls 2
Hurricane but not raining at least. Again became the bogey king after bogey, bogey, bogey, double start.
Highlights:
- No three putts again!
- Nothing worse than double bogey (but 5 of them)
- No confidence with my lob wedge - fluff or thin?
Misjudged 8 and it came back into the water. Sliced off the tee on 10 into the water as there yesteday. Really felt like I wasn't going to make a decent score after screwing up the first few holes (on each round.)
Started to play long irons again but still couln't reach 7 or 9 in two. Once in the crap, even if you find it you don't know what will happen - on 14 punched to front of green for 25m putt back!
Finished 7th, with the winning score (Marten) 316 to my 342. But I really don't expect to be in contention with three such crap rounds. Even Petro beat me by two shots. Another teaching pro was fourth and Gerard scored 85 so we tied altogether.
I'm just very annoyed that I managed to practice so much and start playing really well but then couldn't produce it on the day(s). The weather is a good excuse but to be honest I just played crap! I only had 2 triple bogeys in 4 rounds so I'm not going to blow out (right) but conversely if all I do is just bogey, I'll always be 10+.

Hcp 10.7, 36 Pts, Putts 29, Birdies 2, Lost Balls 1
This is what you've been working towards! Very difficult in OK but heavy conditions. Hooked everything but just aimed right and most of the time it was OK. Missed lots of greens but my putting really held me together.
Highlights:
- Thee putted from 1 metre for birdie on 6. My only three putt of the round.
- 19 Putts reflects many good up and downs (2, 4, 13, 16 & 17)
- Sand save from the first bunker on 11.
- Two birdies on 8 & 10.
- Nothing worse than double bogey.
It turns out that the leader in the clubhouse has 77 so my round turns out to be not that bad after all. I'm 6th for now...

Hcp 10.6, 37 Pts, Putts 31, Birdies 0, Lost Balls 1
Played really badly but still managed to hold it together with superb chipping and putting (lob wedge paid for itself).
Highlights:
- Drove really crap on 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 16 but on 3 of those holes still came away with par!
- No Blobs!
- One three putt, but I forgive my putter as it kept me going today
- Handicap going down again!
Geert Jan won with 12 gross skins to my 5 and Petro's 3 (birdies counted) and it was a really good match. Petro scored 37 pts (10.9) and Geert 33 (5.2).
When I saw Geert Jan replace his ball not in the same place he had marked it, I was in such a quandary as to whether to tell him or not as I knew he would take it badly - but I figured he needs to be careful of that when he is playing proper matches not just with friends so I was doing him a favour. He really didn't believe it but I know what I saw. It was 5 holes later when he completely lost concentration so he can't blame that on me!
